The challenge of expansion

While Southstar Drug is a strong drugstore chain in the province, entering the urban setting proved to be a challenge with its highly-competitive environment of established drugstores.

Our goal was to design an identity that will make them stand out and appeal to young city dwellers.

 

Clear identity, strong visibility

We helped Southstar Drug develop an overarching rebrand strategy that would strengthen their identity and increase their visibility and resonance to their target audience. To do this, we created simple and clear visuals that stand out in the bustling, cluttered environment of fast-paced cities.

 

A rush of opportunities

Southstar Drug was able to set itself apart and penetrate the urban market. It has since also opened stores in Visayas and Mindanao. Five years into the rebrand, they now have over 480 stores nationwide and are still growing in number.

Last 2017, Southstar Drug won the 20th Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) Outstanding Filipino Retailer (Specialty Retailer, Large Category). On the same year, their revenue increased by 10.2% to Php 10.3 billion.
